The Lee Navigation here is wide, and has a towpath along one side. There is a lock here with a big drop in water level from the Park side down towards the Thames. The lock keepers have a little shelter in between the two locks. There are two footbridges, one that takes you across the mouth of the Old River Lea, and one that crosses over the Lee Navigation to Fish Island.
There are some old industrial buildings on the waterfront at Fish Island, and stretching back along Dace Road. There is a lot of graffiti, some quite artistic and some not.
On one side of the Old River Lea are the old Lock keepers cottages, which have been combined into a single house with a fenced garden. On the other side is an old brick wall which encloses a patch of woodland.
The footpath is a bit uneven near the footbridges, but gets more flat as you go along the Lee Navigation. There is no barrier between you and the edge of the canal.
