This waypoint is located by the fountains between the London Aquatics Centre and the London Stadium.
This is Thornton’s Fields, a large island in the middle of the Park.

Before the Park was created, this was a busy, noisy industrial area with factories and workshops visible in every direction, and tall chimneys belching coal smoke into the sky. Stratford was known for making paint, varnish, animal food and railway engines.

These days it is still busy – but in a different way. On sunny days the computer-controlled fountains of Waterworks Place are very popular with families. On match days or concert evenings, tens of thousands of people stream over the bridge to and from the London Stadium. Luckily Thornton Fields is well connected, with a dozen bridges giving a way to come and go.

To find the next waypoint, walk towards the London Stadium, but this time turn right before the bridge and go down the gentle slope towards City Mill River until you arrive at the orange climbing wall.
