This is a wide, open plaza which acts as a main walkway for people approaching the London Stadium. The area between here and the Lee Navigation is being redeveloped as a new community, with a new road connecting it to Carpenters Road.
The ground here is very flat, and there are long, sloping paths that lead down to the road or up onto the long bridge that crosses Carpenters Road and the railway line and connects to the north park. Two sides of Mandeville Place are bounded by water, but you cannot see the water from here as the plaza has been raised up from the river level.
In the middle of the Plaza going north is an oval of green with young trees and a set of brick pillars with a cover stretched over the top to provide shade. There are benches and seats in this space. To the right at the edge of the plaza, are long wooden seats where the ground slopes away.
