We’ve talked about rivers changing, but our next river, the Pudding Mill River, has changed more than most, because it has disappeared completely. Just beyond this point you can see where it once branched off the Old River Lea, heading southwards. When the London Stadium was built, Pudding Mill River…really just a ditch by then…. was filled in and disappeared from the maps.
For a Stadium which swallowed the Pudding, London Stadium has changed a lot since the Olympics and Paralympic Games. Following the Games, the stadium went through a major transformation project to convert it into a year round, multi use venue – including the largest roof of its kind in the world. Since reopening, it has hosted major music concerts, football, athletics and international rugby!
Continue along the path under the bridges and overhead pipes, and cross back over the Old River Lea at the next footbridge.
